Practical HTML5

At this workshop you’ll learn about new elements, javascript APIs, browser feature detection techniques and how to work with new & emerging web standards.

If you’ve ever wondered if you’re really doing it right, have become cynical to the ways of the 'semantic' or 'open web' or just plain want to get into sync with the platform you work with every day, then this workshop is for you.

Assumed knowledge is that you’ve written HTML before, the focus will be on the future, not on the past, but everything will be practical and usable now.

What to expect

This class will be taught on a Saturday morning from 9AM, we'll have tea and coffee to get you running. You'll be in a small group (maximum amount of people in the room will be 15 - including the presenter), so you can follow along at your own pace on your laptop or keep it simple and take notes, its really up to you.

We want you to ask questions, and share your thoughts (within reason anyway), so it'll be a fairly interactive experience.

When we finish up, we'll retire somewhere nearby for refreshments.
